DSC_0594_editFor all those who enjoyed our display of sunflowers last year, today we planted the first our new heirloom varieties to complement the Mammoth Grey sunflowers we grew last summer.

I think you will truly enjoy the beautiful bouquet we selected just for you this year.

Stop by often to watch their progress. They should start showing their greens in a matter of days.

planting by handAt Steepleview Farm we take extra care to deliver the best most wholesome food possible. From our carefully selected seeds, to our meticulous starting and transplanting discipline to placing the young plants into the soil by hand, everything we do is done the old fashioned way, with care and love and hard work.

Today we finished our first phase of planting. Nearly 1,000 plants placed into the soil by hand, mostly on our hands and knees, not under black plastic but free to grow and become the best “under the sun”.

Come visit sometime. Our entire operation is completely transparent. We want you to know where you food comes from, how it is handled and to rest assured that we are giving every plant our personal attention which then translates and transfers directly to you.

It’s gonna be a good year. I can just feel it.
