We are making plans now to offer a special lunch and dinner menu on Saturdays during our Saturday Farmer’s Market all summer long.
Enjoy pulled pork cooked the way I learned after traveling to famous backwoods pits in the deep south where the flavor comes from cooking over real wood, not propane like the barbecue places you find in and around the city.
How about a delicious curry chicken salad wrap made with sweet grapes and walnuts in a special lettuce and soft tortilla shell?
Or maybe you’d like a nice cool salad with Arugula, Chard, Radicchio, Spinach, Endive and Romaine lettuce sprinkled with dried cranberries, candied walnuts, pine nuts (toasted fresh daily), crumbled bleu cheese and my own secret vinaigrette dressing recipe made with a special Balsamic vinegar from a small producer in Napa Valley.
Also look for open fire seared hand patted burgers and from time to time fresh Alaskan Halibut and Salmon specials cooked according to the recipes I learned along the coast in Alaska.
As our crops come in enjoy a Caprese salad made with our own basil and tomatoes or a cup of our ‘made from scratch’ tomato basil soup. Look for grilled peppers and summer squash, bread and butter pickles, and of course a variety of heirloom tomato dishes.
Once fall arrives we will add our special pumpkin and winter squash dishes along with ‘made fresh daily’ applesauce, apple cider and other wonderful warm fall dishes.
